The Road to My Essential Question...

We are beginning to think about an essential question to write a paper on. I have decided that mine is going to be "Why is music such an important part of the human experience?". Music has always been a really important part of my life. I've often wondered how music fits into life and why it is so important, or if it is really important. I couldn't imagine a world without music. I feel that music has a purpose and is part of life for a reason. I just don't know what that is yet. That is why I decided to make it my essential question. It was difficult coming up with one specific question that I had about music. Music is a very broad subject so It was tough trying to hone in on a certain aspect. I hope to understand the connection between music and life and how they come together. I also hope to realize music's purpose and why it is such a key part of life. I think I will get a lot out of this paper and hopefully learn more about music and it's relationship with human existence.
